Warsaw: The Govt. of Japan disclosed its new target which has served an outrageous wave among the nations. Japan has reduced its GHG mitigation target to 3.8 pct from earlier agreed target of 25 pct from the level of 1990. In a controversial statement the delegation from Japan informed that they have been forced to switch from nuclear power which is a much cleaner source of energy to other fossil fuel based power sources due to which emissions are more than what supposed to occur earlier therefore now it is difficult to take and implement a target of 25 pct. It is to be noted that Japan now has proposed a 3.8 pct reduction not from 1990 level but from 2005 level. “EnvironmentFirst” has reviewed the latest IPCC report which was discussed among the nations in Warsaw and all nations showed their concerns about the findings related to pace of climate change and extreme weather. We can see the evidences of climate change happening had it been Kedarnath incident to recent typhoon haiyan in Philippines. In both case the govt. couldn’t even count the toll properly so many are still missing from these incidents.
Over the journey of hundreds of years no doubt the mankind have developed a success path and explored the heights of space to depth of oceans but in doing do they have contributed to anthropogenic GHG emissions which further exploited our atmosphere and environment. Every race has some responsibility for its next generation to preserve it so that they can live in a safe and pure world. No money and power can reverse it once the climate changed. It is the responsibility of nations to consider that they have been given the responsibility of saving our mother earth and they have time too to respond on reversing or stopping the climate change to happen. I understand that it is not business as usual as it hasn’t any monitory benefit but I assure that the benefits are countless as we are doing it for our future generations who will be proud on us.
